Accessibility
Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) is a powerful tool, but it can be expensive to train, deploy, and use on consumer hardware. We are committed to making GAI models more accessible by using selective training techniques to get more intelligence out of a smaller model, and by releasing all of our models open source.
Our approach to making GAI more accessible has several benefits:
- It reduces the cost of training and deploying GAI models, making them more affordable for individuals.
- It increases the ease of use of GAI models on consumer hardware, making them more accessible to a wider range of users.
- It reduces the environmental impact of training GAI models, making them more sustainable.
- It increases the transparency of GAI models, making it easier for users to understand how they work.
We believe that making GAI models more accessible will make it possible for everyone to benefit from the power of this technology.
Education
Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) is difficult to understand, especially for individuals with few resources.
We are committed to:
- Releasing some of these models open source, along with a paper that provides detailed information about their capabilities and how they work.
- Offering free resources for anyone who is interested in learning more about GAI.
We believe that educating individuals will decrease ethical issues and hesitancy while using this technology.
Sustainability
Current Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) models are large and complex and thus require a lot of processing power to run quickly, which hurts the environment.
We are commited to creating green, net zero models by:
- Creating smaller GAI models that can be trained on more efficient hardware.
- Offering client-sided demonstrations of GAI models to limit our carbon footprint.
Together, we believe that we can have a green GAI future, while still having powerful models.
